I owned a P-210 for a number of years in the early Eighties - paid $500 and sold it for $900.
It had some really good points. The trigger was as good as any of the Smith target revolvers I had at the time. The blue finish was as deep as $10k custom rifles I saw at the same time. On top of all the benefits, though, was the slide smoothness - hard to imagine that. Consider two panes of polished glass sliding against each other on a coating of oil - absolutely remarkable.
Why did I sell it? I didn't use it much. The horizontally-grooved wood panels provided poor grip and were too big for my hands - this at a time when custom grip panels were not as available as they are today. It just didn't feel right.
Also, the safety placement was poor, requiring a hand shift to take it off; I thought about having an extension added to improve it, but didn't. I pulled the safety and just looked at it; probably would have cost a thousand dollars at the time to replace it if it got screwed up.
I'm glad I had one when they were cheaper, as I'd probably scrimp to get one now and be a bit disappointed.
