Have a new Elite Dark. It came with two very small (tiny) allen wrenches to adjust the rear sight but no information as to how to make adjustments.

Anyone have specifics regarding this?

Thanks

I have an Elite Dark as well.

The allen on the right side adjusts the sight up and down.

The two allens on the base of the site allow you to slide the sight out of the dovetail and adjust the drift.

When mine was new I had a lot of trouble with the rear site coming loose while shooting and sliding side to side. It turns out that Sig had put some sort of loctite type substance on the two allen bolts holding the site in the dovetail. It seems to have gotton on the tips of the allens and in the dovetail more than on the threads and wouldn't let me get the allen bolts tight enough to keep it from sliding in the dovetail. I removed the bolts and rear sight, cleaned everything, put it back together without any loctite, snugged the bolts up and I've never had a problem with the rear site coming loose since.

mrvco: Thanks for the info. I have not messed with sights yet. It seems to shoot low and to the left. I am shooting up the last of some 15 year old reloads. I am waiting for ordered components to arrive and will be working up new loads specific to this gun. I purchased it specifically for competition and wanted the adjustable sights. Had heard about the issues. Mine sight is rock solid as of now but I am just thinking ahead in case I have to make adjustments.

What color loctite did the factory use on yours?

Thanks

I don't recall the color, red maybe? Regardless, I think someone got it in the wrong spots when they installed the sights at the factory. It was probably just an anomaly with my gun, but it was incredibly annoying until I figured out what was causing the problem.

Before you start tweaking the sights, I'd shoot it from a bench and see how the gun is shooting. I was having the same problem shooting low and left when I got mine and it turned out that it took me a while to adjust to the grip and bore axis. I've also talked to a couple of other P226 owners that went through a similar adjustment period.
