Question:

If I carry my Sig P238 with one in the chamber, cocked and locked (like it was meant to be carried)....is there a possibility of it going of IF somehow the safety malfunctioned?

Or must the trigger be actually pulled for it to fire? What I am asking is ...is there a physical barrier to the firing pin that is only removed if the actual trigger is pulled? (Make sense?)

I guess what scares me is that the cocked & locked hammer is "under tension"...and if somehow the safety malfunctions...is there a possibility of the hammer slamming down and causing the gun to fire (without the trigger being pulled)? (I have the Post-recall model.)

What does the manual for the gun say?

What does the manufacturer say?
