Went down to the gun range to possibly pick up that Sig Pro I was talking about a couple of days ago. Guy wanted $599 for it. Isn't that a little high for it?

From what I have read here it seems a little high to me. What do you guys think?

Well, $599 +dros would get you at about $625-ish. I think new ones are in the $650 neighborhood. What accessories does it come with? What kind of condition is it in? How's the trigger?

Now you've got me wondering...maybe I was wrong. It might be worth a call to a dealer and find out what they really go for...or maybe just do a price check on one over on gunbroker.com

yeah, went to gunbroker.com and saw one for 499. I know the gun shop has to charge a little more for their services but a hundred bucks is a little too much isn't it?

The SIG Pros I usually see are in the neighborhood of $450-500 NIB. There are a couple of places I've heard of on the internet where you can get them with only one mag for $399.

OK, assuming that I can find one for a great price I need a little convincing that it is going to be a good purchase.

Can you guys help convince me?

How bad can they be? SIG is willing to put their name on it ;)

Seriously, I haven't seen many in the stores & haven't met anyone that actually owns one...sorry.

The sigpro is a fine pistol, but not for everyone. Biggest complaints come from those brought up on the P2xx series SIGs. Some think the handgrip is a bit too thick. Others complain about the lack of hi-caps or incompatability of mags with earlier SIGs. Also the unconventional accessory rail. Some also groan about the decock lever and lack of seperate take down lever associated with the classic SIG series.

I'm in the process of purchasing a sigpro in .357SIG. If you check out the SIGforum classifieds, they usually run ~$400-550 slightly used or NIB. I just made a deal for a sigpro in .357, blackened stainless slide with 7 mags and SIGlites for $530 shipped.

I definitely like the sig pro pistols. They seem to be the perfect platform for the .357SIG round.

Depends on the caliber. I have a Blue Line 9mm and paid $420 for it new about a year ago. Saw the regular ones at a recent show for $450. .40s seem to be worth more. They run $475-500 at local gunshows. This guy is at least $100 high.

Oh, just looked at your locale. PRK? Maybe that's decent in your state, who knows.:what:

Sig Pro...

Picked up one in .40 about a year and a half ago. Compared it directly against a Glock 35. The SIG fit my hand better, (with smaller grip and Hogue handall). But had a higher bore axis.

Recoil can be a little snappy, ammo dependent. But not abusive. Controls are well laid out, though the decoker requires getting used to. Smooth trigger in DA and SA with short reset. I like the 'dot the I' factory sights, some don't.

Overall, I like it and am planning on keeping it. No it's not my primary house gun, no it's not a carry piece, it's not a dedicated target shooter.

It makes holes in paper really well, and thats good enough for me.

Oh, I think I paid $525 for it here in MD.

Considering that it's at a gun shop in California, the price seems about right. I bought mine out-of-state, transferred through my dealer. I paid about $600 for mine, but it was Two-Tone with SIGLITE night sights. It's an outstanding pistol.

I have been searching for a two-tone 2009 but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have any leads?

I bought my Two-Tone SP 2340 from Ultimate Outdoors (located in TX) late last year. See: http://www.ultout.com/

They don't list guns on their web site (they used to), but they sell them. You need to call. Ask for Cliff. The SIGARMS part numbers would be:

SP2009-9-T (fixed sights)
SP2009-9-TSS (SIGLITE night sights)

lunde,

That was a fast reply. Thanks, I'll check them out.

By the way, in reading your posts at TFL and here for some time, I have some questions. Are there any pistols you don't like? Are there any pistols you don't own or have not owned? Are there any pistols that you own only one of? :)

Thanks again.

I got the Blueline model with the factory night sights, and 3 mags for around 540 or so NIB. Gun prices here are a little higher than some places, and not as high as others. But Sig's aren't cheap NIB for the most part anyway, and I think the SigPro line has an MSRP somewhere between $600-$700 IIRC. I think lunde would probaby know more on that one since he seems to know so much about the SigPro line. Oh, lunde, can the stainless slides be purchased seperatly?

While I was putting together the Sig Pro FAQ last month, SIGforum member "TXSIG" told me that he bought a complete Sig Pro slide on eBay for a tad over $100, so they're apparently out there. You might want to call SIGARMS (603-772-2302) to ask whether the slide can be purchased as a part.

Handgun, you wrote:

Why all the leading questions? ;)
