I was wondering if there is some trigger work that can be done on the P250 F to make the trigger have less pull time. I feel like it takes forever to fire when using the "stock" trigger. Is there something that can be done to make it a shorter pull or to make it fire with less resistance?

Thanks

No, as far as I can tell there isn't, but I am FAR from a smithy. My wife has the compact 9mm and I loath firing it. I liken it to a staple gun. FYI, make sure to clean under the extractor very well. Very prone to fail to eject. Hers, fresh to the range will make it through about 3 magazines then it starts (or stops as it were). Try contacting Sig and see what they say. P250Sig.com may be helpful to you as well. Good luck.

Couple of things, maybe

It has as 6lb DAO trigger pull weight, IIRC

This may be reduced by a couple of pounds with an aftermarket main spring, possibly. If so, this will lesson the pull feel and give it a faster/quicker pull.. say like Glocks which, iIRC, have around a 4lb DAO trigger pull weight.. Nice weight/pull IMO

Also, depending on which trigger you have but, if like my P225, it has the full looking trigger yet it is a pressed trigger (hollow) vs a heavier (far better trigger IMO) solid aluminum trigger that IMO helps aid in pull weight feel/balance with more balance in a much heaver trigger, that in itself, aids the DA pull via less felt pull weight of the DA or DAO pull itself..

Or, simply send it out to, say Gray guns who specialize in trigger jobs on Sigs..

Or, chamber a snap cap and start pulling over and over to put some time on the trigger action to help smooth it out more..

Luck,

Ls

The P250 trigger pull issues it not about weight or smoothness IMHO. The problem is length of pull and then reset. There is not much that can be done to change it IIRC. It was designed that way.

Now some people like it. I personally shot about 500 rounds through my gen 1 and sold it for what I had in it. There are other better polymers out there for me. YMMV

Yeah that is what I am saying, the trigger pull is way to long. I just want to be able to shorten it up some. If anyone has some ideas, let me know.

Thanks

That's my only complaint as well. The pull is fine, but I will short stroke the reset sometimes. I looked at the mechanism and it would take a new/different hammer to get a shorter reset as the trigger bar rides on the bottom edge of the hammer. I would think a different trigger bar might be needed as well to give the hammer full range and the same force on the firing pin. My solution has just been to shoot the snot out of it to get used to the reset.

Yeah I have been trying to put some time on it as well. It just feels like there is a mile of trigger on it, and when I expect it to go off, there is another 1/4 inch to pull.

It is my understanding that you cannot change the length of pull. For guys who come from a DA revolver background it is a great trigger. If you are a DA/SA and or SA guy I am not sure it will ever "feel" right.

I kind of feel the same way about my Kahr CW9. Nice and smooth pull but its long. It is still shorter than the P250 IMHO. I think that the things you gain in the slim light Kahr design make it a decent compromise especially at the sub $400 range. I think you can get used to shooting these guns but you have to understand their limitations.

That is the way it seems to me. If you can't get along with a long pull to fire and a reset all the way back to the start, you may need to go shopping for another gun.
I have shot a fair amount with DA revolvers and the P250 feels pretty good to me.

I think that is a big part of the issue because it is very unSiglike. If you have been shooting a lot of P series Sigs from day one it just seems off. I found myself waiting for the trigger.

This is the first Sig that I have owned, and shot. It still seems pretty lengthy. Perhaps some phone calls will find some info out.
