Hello all I would rather use a rifle but we had to change hunting spots and iron sights seems to be better then Scopes.

It's a 24 inch fully rifled barrel with iron sights, rear is adjustable. Using either 2 3/4 or 3 inch. Now the questions.

1. Do I sight in for 100 yards and is there an acceptable sized group I should be looking for?

2. Should I just buy a few different kinds of sabots or are some better then others? They had 3 inch benneke golds for a good price.

Thanks for any help, never tried a rifled slug gun before.

I think the area you hunt should determine what you sight in for. I have mine sighted in for 50yds because I'll never take a shot over that where I hunt.

I've always considered a grouping of 3 inches or less to be good for a slug gun.

Yes, grab a couple different brands and see what shoots best. I find slug guns to be the most picky about ammo.

IME sight in a couple of inches high at 50 yards. Shotguns slugs have a lot of wind deflection and this will be minimized sighting in at 50 yards with a 100 yard zero than sighting in at 100 yards with a 100 yard zero. IME also much less frustration.

I know they are expensive, but shooting multiple brands of sabot slugs will show you what brand has the best accuracy. I very much recommend a PAST Recoil Shield or similar recoil pad when shooting slugs off the bench. You will be able to shoot more slugs at a sitting more accurately.

Just my .02,
