My buddy was thinning out some of his collection, and not really being a plastic kind of guy, offered me a first generation Sigma 9mm cheap. He bought it used last year and had only run about 100 rounds through it. It looks brand new, there's not a blemish anywhere on it.
Having heard all the bad talk about the first generation Sigmas, i was a little leery but decided i'd check it out for myself.
I ran 260 rounds through it (200 rounds of PMC 124gr FMJ and 60 rounds of Winchester 115 gr Silvertips) without a single problem. After the first couple magazines full i finally got used to the long slightly heavy trigger pull, and at 21 ft simi rapid fire, groups were all in the black. Not great groups i know, but for a half blind old man, it'll do.
It's been awhile since i've done any plinking, and this gun reminded why i like 9mm hardball. Besides, for $150 and loaded up with Silvertips, it'll make a great garage stash gun.
