After a lot of research and study, without any experience with the caliber at all I decided to have a custom pistol barrel built for my Encore. A 15" full bull, 1" diameter out to muzzle in 7mm-08 caliber. The deciding factor for me was the availability of 308 brass I could readily and easily resize to 7-08, and I am well stocked on 120gr 7mm bullets. After doing a couple of batches of 100 it is so very easy and I couldn't be happier with its performance and quite surprised and thrilled with the lack of recoil.

Thats a neat little gun! Hows it group? I need to add a T/C to the stable eventually. Use for target work exclusively, or take it deer hunting too?

Awesome; I love my model 7 rifle in 7-08; but I must say when I had my XP-100 in 7mmBR, that was the sweetest mildest shooting gun with great accuracy - with those 120 gr bullets..... something about those bullets in that bore size, along with the 140s that just shines.....
