I've looked all over and can't find an answer on this. I have a Chicom SKS, and I want to replace the stock front sight post with one of those Tapco plastic translucent posts. Is this a simple matter of just unscrewing the stock post and screwing in the plastic post (using a sight tool, of course)?
Reason I ask is that I am wondering if there is some type of spring or retainer that I need to be aware of when I remove the stock front sight post.
Thanks

Just unscrew the post. Putting one back in may be a bit testy as they are split and spread, so must be 'squeezed' while starting. I've heard that the pretty plastic posts will melt. I have not tried one so no first hand knowledge.
