She moved there from Arizona, and was under the impression that it is some sort of gun-free mecca. At least she thinks Fort Collins is that way. Her exact words were, "Everyoen there hates guns."

Anyway, I was just looking up CO gun laws and noticed that CO gets a "D" from the Brady Campaign, same as AZ.

I can't wait for this to come up in conversation. :D

Did she think/say this before or after she moved? Even in Boulder you'd have to keep your head in a happy fantasy land to think "everyone" there hates guns. Fort Collins? Yow.

You could get the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners to send her some pamphlets. :)

She must not have realized that the Larimer County Sheriff has been issuing CCW permits since before statewise shall-issue passed a couple years ago. (FC is in Larimer Cty.)

I think by saying "everybody here hates guns" she means everyone SHE associates with "hates guns".

Not hard for anti's to find anti's if they look hard enough.

;)

Best wishes,

J. P.

I sure do hope she moved out of my part of Arizona...

Don't think she'd have been too happy here... :D

My little sister lives up there. I don't know too many other girls who own four handguns, 2 rifles and a 12 gauge O/U (she also drives an '06 Quad cab Cummins with a 6-speed). She lives up there with a friend who owns an additional dozen or so firearms. They only live a few miles from a friend of mine who happens to be a tactical handgun/shotgun instructor. These are the only folks I know in Ft. Collins.

I cannot fathom where your sister got the idea that Colorado was a criminal safe zone, but it simply isn't the case. Out here in Elbert couty, 8 out of 9 homes are armed. IIRC, the estimated number of legal guns in Colorado is higher than the population.

The current Larimer county Sheriff is a pro gun advocate and he got elected because he ran on that platform. We tossed out the previous Sheriff who would not issue a carry permit primarily for his anti gun position.

Fort Collins is a very liberal town due to the college influence but overall Colorado is pretty gun friendly. First impressions are not always the best ones!

Perhaps reading of the folly that comes of of Denver, and to a lesser degree Boulder. Anti's don't have to look too hard to find like minded people in those cities. During my time in the Bloodmines of Boulder, I worked with six or seven rabid anti's over the years.

Great.

Another left wing moon bat has moved into my state and probably registered to vote.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. :scrutiny:

:neener:

good thing she didn't move to my part of SC

Even the guy that cuts my hair carries a gun.....and yes it takes forever for him to finish cutting my hair due to the conversations lol

She's probably associating with the University crowd. We have it in Iowa too.....we call Story and Johnson counties where Iowa State and University of Iowa are located "Peoples' Republics". The only area in Iowa where more liberals congregate is the state capital, Des Moines. The rest of the state is pro-gun. When some nut job slaughters some of them, it never occurs to them that personal defense might have saved them:banghead: They seem to believe they are lawful prey and it's bound to happen to some of them......like sheep and rabbits:rolleyes:

funny stuff, Britton.

my own sister is a former anti, she moved to northern california a few years back, ended up getting married and getting a place deep in the forest. her stance on guns changed pretty dramatically once she learned how long it would take the county sheriff to get to their place in case of trouble. she has a Glock 19 that she shoots often, a gift from her new husband.

As two old ladies in the museum...

on main street in Trinidad CO told me several years ago, "too many people from California are moving here and screwing things up"............I wonder how long it will take the kalifornicators to shut the gunsmith school there.....chris3

She used to go shooting periodically and not really care one way or another about RKBA, but then she joined the teacher's union.

You all know what comes next.

Hard left rudder, flanking speed.

Anyway, that's now Colorado's problem :D

Larry would you and Sarah please step inn and line the girl out before she votes ?? All we fellow coloradioans would appreciate it LOL

My wife used to be very conservative, read Ayn Rand and all that. Then she took a job at Iowa State University. At first she sneered at all the silly liberals. Gradually though they are getting in her head and she sounds a little more liberal every year. I'm hoping she retires before they totally poison her.

Bob.

Zundfolge, if it will make you feel any better, the parents of a friend of mine (both CHL holders) have just moved to Colorado. He and his wife (both CHL holders) are looking at moving there. My wife and I (she currently has more firearms than I do) are thinking about moving there. A friend of mine (Marine Recon Scout Sniper) and his wife are thinking of moving to Colorado.
We will do our best to counter the anti influence.

I will

...have to watch rallying Point. I cant wait to miss all those thrown clays....

If Clay Pigeons were edible, I'd lose weight. I swear all the ones I have shot at just happened to have holes in exactly the positions my shot hits it with. Or all the barrells on my shotguns are bent.. Yeah, that's it. That has to be it.
