Soft Case for Marlin 336 in 30-30

I have a Marlin 336 30-30 with scope.

All the soft cases I have are made for "scoped" rifels but are too long and I can't find one short enough to solve my problem. When I put the rifle in the case and carry it by the handles, the scope rides against the inside of the case against the zipper because the barrel is too short for it to reach the end.

What is needed is a soft case for a much shorter barreled rifle.

Anybody know of a particular soft case that would be ideal for a Marlin 336with scope?

I couldn't find a shorter case, either, although I haven't looked in several years.

So, I put in some wadded seatshirt material in the skinny part to help hold the rifle in place. Also a couple of wraps of sweatshirt scraps over the scope...

A 38" to 40" case should work fine.
