Thanks for the responses I got this week about my question. I left a message with the Orthopedic dept and was called by one of my doctors assistents. He said as long as it's been over six months from the shoulder replacement, I should be fine. Though it may be sore the first time I shoot a high power rifle, my New England Single Shot .270 and Marlin .35 Lever Action.
I may give it a go next week.

Sweet! Bust out the .375H&H!
If it does bother you and you've got an extra $100 around you could start with a Caldwell lead sled and start removing weight as you work your way up to shooting without it. Made my 7-08 feel like a .22.

I've had both of my shoulders replaced due to arthritus. I have ne problem shooting my .270 Winchester Featherweight. If you have any questions, PM me. The first was 13 1/2 years ago and the second was three years age. No problem with either.

I appreciate the tips, sites and personal experiences from your post. I feel more comfortable at the thought of going out and testing it now. Maybe later I'll get some pads. I'll make money after I retire.
