Very nice work, myself I hand stitch around each belt loop to give a bit more support. Also are you lining your holsters? What weight leather did you use?
It's getting better, thank you for the compliment though. I have played with stitching around the belt loop but most of my designs haven't left enough room to do so without stitching being on top of other stitching. Once I find the styles I like the most I figure that I can go back and tweak them with some 'adjustments.'
I haven't tried lining any yet although I have done a few smooth side in just to see how it would do. It seems most of the affordable lining material can trap dirt/grime and lead to premature wear - I decided for now I'll learn how to get good with it as is before I try to go to that extent. I do hand burnish the inside of the holster now though, then follow it up with a good conditioner after it's been sealed and some 'Johnsons Paste Wax' per recommendation from a holster maker for the snug areas on the inside.
Sorry for the long winded reply! All of the leather is veg tanned Hermann Oak 7/8 oz.
I appreciate it, I have drilled holes for stitching if that's what your asking about. I also have access to a Tippmann Boss but that is extremely limited so I do most of my stitching by hand.
Thanks! My head gets a little too swollen when I look at where I started at. I've finished up all of my 'favors' and work for friends - my next project is a full blown belt/holster/sheath/mag pouch/ and sling that are 'matching.'
