Someone learn me on suppressors

I am finally making the plunge and buying a suppressor. What do you all think about the SWR trident 9? Looks like a solid product. I also thought I may want to shoot with a suppressor on my FNP 45. Have any of you all shot a 45 suppressor on a 9mm? How does it work? Last question. how would you clean one? And how do I know what thread pitch to get or does it have inserts for different threads?

.45 suppressors on 9mms work pretty well, and its definitely an option if you only want to buy one can, but if you want really good suppression on the 9mm you'll probably want a dedicated can for each. 9mms are also are quieter than a .45 if you're using subsonic ammo (most 147gr is subsonic). You get thread pitch from the threads on your barrel, there are adapters out there, but its usually easier to get the right thread pitch from the start. To use a .45 can on a 9mm, you will need an adapter.

Cleaning depends on the suppressor, but most should be able to be disassembled. Once you break it down, its just like cleaning any other part of the gun.

I don't know too much about the SWR, but from what I've seen, the AAC TiRant and the Silencerco Osprey are two top end cans. They're a bit spendy though.

You'll need a nielsen device to use a gun with a Browning locking system (pretty much any of the standard duty pistols: Glock, Sig, HK etc) but the nielsen should be included in the suppressor. I have seen in some cases with really light cans that the manufacturer claims it's not needed, but I'm not sure on how those do. You mainly see it in micro suppressors like the Thompson Machine Poseidon.

A solid mount would be used if you have a pistol with a fixed barrel (most .380s or a P7 etc) or on a pistol caliber rifle.

I have a SWR Trident-9. It's a "sealed" can and can not be taken apart. The new Octane-9 has similar baffles and is user serviceable. If it was available when I got my Trident, I would have opted for it instead. When the time comes, I'll send my Trident out for a "jail break" so I can clean it.

However, .45 cans on 9mm are pretty good. The osprey has a slightly louder first round pop, however, it suppresses pretty well on 9mm otherwise.

The Osprey is also a sealed can.

You'll definitely need a booster of some kind for use on a glock. The Osprey has them built into their cans. The Trident requires a threaded booster.

I am excited to get my Mystic from my dealer when my Form 4 finally comes in. It's a solid can that can run a bunch of sub calibers. It's user serviceable, so you can even use it for .22 if you wanted to go that way with it.

I went ahead and bought the trident 9. THe price was right and everything pointed to it being a super quiet can. What brand barrel would you all purchase? I was thinking stormlake or lone wolf. I can pick a storm lake up for 200 bucks and a lone wolf for about 130. Any suggestions.

Has anyone used a storm lake threaded barrel? I was going to go with wolf because of the price, but I have heard they are maybe made over seas. I want a barrel made in the US.
