I have 2 SP 101's with 4 inch barrels. I noticed that the pin holding the rear sight in place on one was very loose and had slid out almost to the point of being completely lost. Not a complicated fix, blue thread locker and a toothpick, apply, push it in and wipe off the excess. I decided to check the other one, and, although it was in place it was very easily pushed out of its hole. After another fix, I thought I'd ask if this has happened to other SP101 owners. Not a horrendous problem, but after going 2 for 2 I'm wondering if this is a common issue.

Exact same thing happened on my 22lr version. I pushed the pin out, put a 3 degree bend in it, and tapped it back in. Problem solved.

Seems to be common as we have had several threads on it here in the past.

Most common fix is push the pin half way out, bend it slightly, and drive it back in place.

Although Lock-Tight will work as well or better.
If you don't go crazy and glue the sight in.

It's a fairly common occurrence & the simplest fix is the bend.

Ruger has started to use a roll pin there in the past month or so on the new convertible .45 Redhawk, that pin's scheduled to work throughout the Ruger DA lineup with adjustables.
