I picked up the last two boxes of steel cases 7.62x39 $6.99 a box of 20 which actually seemed close to normal price. I was excited that I scored. Hopefully that bodes well for the rest of the industry.

That said, I don’t recognize the brand GECO. Has anyone used it?

I picked up some USA Made Geco branded 9mm from Rural King a bit ago. Must have been a contract or rush job. Came in a plain white box with a sticker on it. I had a friend that shot some German made .45 acp thru his Glock, said it left the muzzle very dirty. It all fired though

I have some Geco 38 Super Auto +P factory ammo that's superb compared to other typical factory fodder for that cartridge! I also have some Geco rifle ammunition in 7X64mm Brenneke and 9.3X62mm but I haven't fired any of it yet.

Yes, they're under the RUAG umbrella along with Norma and RWS, among other brands.

I bought some brass cased 7.62x39 Geco before all the Covid thing started. I’ve shot their 22LR for years and it’s one of my favorites. Unfortunately their 7.62 ammo only goes bang about 50% of the time in my CZ 527. Primer strikes look good and the rifle handles everything else I’ve put in it, including my handloads with military primers. Hopefully their steel cased works better. I’m thinking I just got part of a bad lot.

I don’t care about dirty ammo at all, so I should be good.

Been using various Geco ammo for 35+ years never found it dirty, in my experience it shoots as clean as my hand loads using Vihtavuori powder. I have never had a failure to fire in their center fire ammo and I will say that for hunting or competition shooting their ammo is as good as any made in my experience. FWIW I just went to a few sites and checked their current prices and was shocked at the crazy high prices. Good luck to new shooters buying ammo.
