SR9c OWB suggestions

I've been carrying some for almost two years. My first carry piece is a gen 4 G26. I've been carrying IWB, 4 oclock strong right side. For the most part, when I travel, I sit the holster in my console because it's so uncomfortable. I teach so I can't carry at work...I wish I could.....but that's another thread, for sure.

I bought the SR9c because it fits me, and I really like the thought of a thumb safety. I know that's also a different discussion, but the lack of a safety on the 26 made me nervous.

I am looking to try OWB, and since my IWB holster is a hair loose for the Ruger, I need another holster anyway. Not looking to spend a lot, although that is secondary to function and comfort, and I like leather although I am open to suggestions.

If you want kydex, Raven Concealment Phantom may be a good choice. You can adjust ride height and cant just by moving the attachments. You can also wear the same holster IWB just by adding some IWB attachments.

Thanks. I appreciate the links. I really like the looks of the Rosen holster. I have seen those holsters mentioned a lot here. I have heard that kydex is a good option, but I am old school enough I still like leather.

I couldn’t find the gun list on Milt Sparks.com (http://www.miltsparks.com/) to confirm they make holsters for the SR9c (I’m sure they do, I just couldn’t confirm it). They’d be another good option if you don’t mind waiting 6 months.

The Ruger SR9C has been around awhile, is a pretty popular model, and is produced by a major US gun maker. Nearly any holster maker you can find probably makes a holster for the SR9C.

Great. Thank you all very much. I am going to look through them pretty closely. It's too bad you can't wear a couple for a few days to see what works best. I do know that I don't like IWB. I am finding that I need to change my shirts to longer dress shirts or long t shirts. Heck, I may just wear nothing but Hawaiian shirts. I wouldn't stand out at all.

i recently picked up a holster for my sr40c from simply rugged and love it. i ordered mine with the inside-out straps so i could also wear it IWB but find that OWB conceals well enough that i dont think i will be carrying IWB very much. had mine to my door in just about a week and a half. price was pretty good too. all-in-all i am very pleased with mine.

While you're there, if you don't have a real gun belt, check out their Instructor belts. A gun belt will make carrying in any holster more comfortable.
