Stanley Angle Vise

I have a Panavise with rubber jaws that I like. It's a pretty good third-hand at times. I think any similar would work as long as you have a set of soft - rubber, aluminum, nylon - to go with it.

My larger vise has aluminum that have magnetic backs so they don't fall off all the time.

Whatever you decide (or are thinking about) to buy, do not buy it unseen. Look at it, hold it in your hands. Avoid a mistake, if possible. Used to be that Stanley was OK, but nowadays nothing is guaranteed. Too many imports.

My clamp on vise is now a small Harbor Freight that adjusts every which way. Unlike the ball type vises I have never had it slip and change positions. It has two different sized set of jaws that change position by a180 degree rotation.

Picture or link?

Don't have either and it is 104 degrees outside and I ain't walking to the garage to take a picture. Just go to HF's website and browse their vises and it will be easy to see.

I use mine more than I thought. Wanted something that would let me do the any angle thing. The Stanley looks like it would. Jaws and other things to protect can be made or figured out later. Looks like a good buy.

Impressions? @irishlad. What I like best about the real avid was the ability to position whatever position I wanted. Looks liked yours does the same for a heck of a lot less.

My grandson used it today with that AR lower vise to work on his AR. He really liked it. For light duty it will be great. If it was a little bigger it would be ideal.
