stockless sks

I want a sks but when I get it I am going to switch out the stock for a dragunov style. Is there anywhere I can buy a sks minus the stock? Also what power scope should I look into for it if it is only used for plinking.

sks's are cheap enough to just set wooden stock aside , reassemble with aftermarket stock

I don't know where you could get one without a stock but if you did find it, it would probably only save you $10.

As for a plinking scope, try a 4X but then how far are you plinking?

There is a good chance....

your SKS will decrease accuracy wise with a plastic stock........stick with the military stock. SKS are not target grade rifles anyway, just very fun plinkers.......chris3

I dunno, I've got an SKS-M with Dagunove-style stock, and a 3-9x scope (receiver mounted) that shoots about 2 MOA with good ammo. My stock Yugo shoots about the same. Not exactly precision rifles, but i don't think the aftermarket stock will hurt the accuracy either.

Whether or not it will lose accuracy is dependant on the fit of the stock. Buy one of the wooden dragunov style stocks. It looks a lot better and I didn't notice any change in accuracy.

The pistol gripped stock I had purchased a couple of years ago caused the rifle to hit 2" down and to the left. I couldn't tighten up the stock any more then it was so I bought the dragunov stock and haven't been happier.

Just be careful that if you put the Druganov stock on it you are going to have to replace quite a number of parts with US parts to make it legal as its classed as having a pistol grip which is one of those banned features on imports, so make sure you have a preban SKS if you are going to do that.
