Stoeger American Eagle Luger

I learned to shoot with a Stoeger Luger in .22, with the target sights. Don't recall the thing having many problems in the 20 years since, but it's my dad's and he keeps it clean and in the box, and doesn't shoot much since.

I'm not a big Luger fan. They're not pretty, not even in the 'function over form' beauty Russian guns have, because frankly they're just not designed as well as it would take for that. Awkward, fragile, and finicky, in very distinctly German fashion. But it's the first gun I ever held and fired, so there's an odd nostalgia there.

Confederate.... that Astra looks like an offshoot of some Japanese Nambu variant. What's the history, briefly, on that company? Seeing these different Lugers only makes me want one even more... in any caliber!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, and there is no accounting for taste. I got my 6" .30 brand new Parabellum at the store and was looking at it and a guy standing there said, "Yeah, it's pretty, but not as pretty as this" and pointed at one of those "The Judge" .410 revolvers. That tells the whole story in a nutshell, since to me revolvers are ugly and antiquated and that particular gun near top of the ugly gun list for me and that guy thought it better looking than a Luger! I about spat!

Some guys like big fat girls too.

Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder ?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, and there is no accounting for taste. Beauty IS in the EYE (and the HAND) of the beholder !

Each gun has it's own beauty, if you have the ability (eye) for it.

I think Lugers are beautiful, just not affordable or practical, in my case.

By the way, I like big fat girls, little skinny girls, and all those in between !
