I learned to shoot with a Stoeger Luger in .22, with the target sights. Don't recall the thing having many problems in the 20 years since, but it's my dad's and he keeps it clean and in the box, and doesn't shoot much since.
I'm not a big Luger fan. They're not pretty, not even in the 'function over form' beauty Russian guns have, because frankly they're just not designed as well as it would take for that. Awkward, fragile, and finicky, in very distinctly German fashion. But it's the first gun I ever held and fired, so there's an odd nostalgia there.
