Stuck Cimmaron Open Top

Hello Guys,

New person here. I purchased a nickel plated open top. I wanted to slick it up a little and I can't get it separated. I figured I would ask if someone has a trick to it before I try my hand at it. This is my third OT and it's just plain stuck. I don't want to go banging or tapping just yet. Any suggestions??

The barrel or the wedge? The wedge can be stubborn the first time. Did you turn the screw that holds the wedge in place?

Which model in particular do you have? It can make a difference.
