Sure, you have the guns and the magazines...

Hmm, Beerslurpy- good point on the orange weather balloon giving away your position.

Upon further research, I think a rocket belt would be a far superior way to keep a lower profile, but still be able to jump the 50ft+ tall piles of the dead.

Perhaps also replacing the mastiffs with Komondors tricked out into "ghillie dogs" with camo paint, and replacing the urine-rehydratable sandwiches with Candied scorpions for instant energy (and a "just in case" venom supply) would be a better idea.

Keep the ideas flowing...

Semper paratus!

Jaial,

Hmmmm, first day on the forum, 9 posts already, and the cadence and attitude seems familiar :scrutiny:

You can just avoid nearly all the people problems that can't be handled with a few rds of subsonic .22lr.

Wait, I think I might recognize this character.....

However, you have no choice but to carry gear to help you handle the problems with insects, cold, heat, dehydration, starvation, filth, etc. That gear by itself will total at least 30 lbs. Most guys would need 50 lbs of "non-gun" stuff to last a couple of weeks (and be ready for 4 seasons.

YES!!! I knew it!!!

Welcome Gunkid!!! How many weeks has it been since your last infestation on THR?

When are you going to show us the photos of your updated "Assault Wheelbarrow"?

:D

I have always thought pretty much the same as jaial.

My SHTF go to woods gun is either a Rossi 62 .22 pump gun or the Norinco ATD I just bought.
Both are take down models that would easily fit into a backpack. And both have pros and cons.

Survival game is squirrels, rats, rabbit snakes turtle and feral dogs
not deer.
Where are you gonna pack the extra meat.

I would carry a 1911 or big bore SA revolver to supplement just in case.

But my tactic would be lay low and don't look for trouble

Truck guns and defend the castle guns fall into a completely different category

Can't be Gunkid,
he didn't say nothin about homemade cans or .22 conversion kits.

And I agreed with him

Is that really you Melvin?

It was him, and he is already gone.....

Man, I hate to blow my own horn, but I figure him out quick this time.....and the mods got rid of him within like 5 minutes of me PMing them. Gotta be a new record.

Dewd, that was quick. I thought I done good last week when I narc'd him out at 24 posts.

22 subsonic for SHTF? Dead giveaway.

Another guy here, Khaotic, is a small engine mechanic. Interesting mopeds and such. Sure, they don't look pretty, but they'd get the job done better than most other vehicles in an urban or suburbian environment. To use the example of EMP... replace a couple of parts, crank it up, and zip off before anyone else can figure out they were hit by EMP.

Erhm, Rev.. only one of the bikes (the Red one, with the crummy transmission) has a CDI/Electronic ignition.

All of the others are primitive points/condensor ignition types, especially the trike - they'd not even blink at an EMP.

Also, the exhausts can be swapped from hi-performance to low profile in about six minutes, the low profile one is quiet enough that the sound of tires on surface will give you away before the exhaust note does.

Approximate range is 210 miles on the main tank, and with a 5 gallon jerrycan in the cargo box, that expands to over 1000.

Off-road is important too, because in a SHTF scene, it's gonna be the traffic jam from hell, so if you're not going by air, cross-country is your best bugout.

For the non-mechanically inclined, an ATV four wheeler isn't at all a bad part of a SHTF plan, and they're pretty fun and useful besides.
