I know there have been threads on the opinions for the SW1911 vs SA
1911's, etc. I wanted to do a price check here to see if the prices I got from a reputable dealer are good. I haven't bought a .45ACP 1911 style pistol for over 10 years so help me out. I'm in IL and if these prices seem insane, please recommend a decent dealer. I'm in the western suburbs of IL and will travel to get my guns.

SA: PX9151L - $829.99 plus tax Stainless loaded model
SA: PX9109L - $799.99 plus tax Parkerized (I think) model
SA: PX9154L - $759.99 plus tax Black Stainless

SW: 108285 - $799.99 plus tax black model
SW: 108282 - $799.99 plus tax stainless model

Ruger (I'm throwing this one in since my wife's wants it) - KP90
.45 ACP - $429.99 plus tax.

I'm leaning toward the SW because after all the reading I did on them on this site seem to be very good. SA seems to also be good. The only thing I don't like about SW is the dam roll on lettering on the side of the slide and no ambi safety (I think on all these models). I'm lefty and would have to add it on.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks - JP (telli97)

Compare prices here: www.budsgunshop.com

Don't forget to allow $25 for shipping and what ever your local deal might charge for transfer fee. They have a list of receiving dealers on their site.

Buds Gun Shop

JoeHatley - Funny you mention Buds Gun Shop as I just reviewed their website and their prices are GREAT! I've never ordered online before and I know that Buds does a lot of transactions on the various auction sites. Have you ordered from Buds before? If so what is your experiece? Buying site unseen - even new guns scares me a bit as I've never done it before, however I could save quite a bit of money even with the shipping and transfer fee.

Thanks Again.

The best prices you're going to see around here are either MegaSport in Plainfield on Rte 30 or Gat's out in Dundee...none of the others are likely to beat their prices. Gat's quotes cash prices, a few bucks more for credit card. Mega doesn't care which you use. You can get a transfer for $20 but not from any of the shops - you need to find a kitchen table FFL. Several are listed on Auction Arms or Gunbroker.

Prices

Canuck - Thanks for the info. I'm already set up with an FFL that doesn't kill me on transfer costs. The prices I listed in my first email was quoted to me by GAT GUNS in Dundee. I agree with you that GAT and Mega are probably 2 that I would get better prices from. GAT has always treated me well and I haven't been to Mega in awhile but may get out there this weekend to shoot and I'll check out there costs. Has anyone ever bought new from the interent from such places like Buds Gun Shop, Reeds Ammo, The Shooters Box, etc? They have smokin prices compared to buying locally and if I do the math, I come up cheaper buying out of state, paying shipping and FFL fee. No tax...

Thansk again guys. I love THR. Always good info. here.
