Taking out the trigger safety on glocks!

Go to a range and rent a Glock. DO not go by stupid ideas on the net.

Obviously you have never handled a Glock. Try one first.

Removing the safety does not do anything but make the gun dangerous.

Having shot Glocks, I have to ask...
exactly how are they cumbersome?

Taking out the trigger safety on glocks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My glock 22 is coming in next week and im thingking of removing, taking out the trigger safety off the trigger lever, if this can be done. I figured that on glocks, a trigger safety is not a safety trigger at all. These safeties for me are just trigger extensions and they are cumbersome and have no safe purpose at all.

Your thoughts pls., thanks

Everybody sooner or later makes a big mistake in their life. I see you've already planned yours.

I realize you've been around since 2005 with a number of posts but really that is one of the most trollish off the wall why the hell would anyone do that in their right mind questions ever posed here.

In short, VERY BAD IDEA.

I know I'm going to catch a lot of flak for this, but I've already done it, and it's easy. Just take a 1/16" pin punch and drive the plastic pin that retains the trigger safety from left to right (when looking at the gun from the back), until it makes a dent on the other side. Then use a knife or something and scrape away as much plastic as you can from the lump, until you're able to drive the pin out from right to left. I've heard of people doing it without scraping, by just driving a thumbtack through the plastic, but I ended up bending the tack instead.

My reason is because I have freakishly short trigger fingers, and while the Glock grip fits my hand like a glove and points naturally, the trigger reach is too long. So I shaved down the front of the trigger face, like a SIG "short trigger," but that made it so the trigger safety could point straight out. I tried epoxying it down, but it kept breaking free. So it had to go. I also previously tried shortening the takeup by shimming the trigger parts housing, but that made it non drop safe, so shaving the trigger face was really all that would work.
