Taser Ineffectiveness?

I was just watching Fight Science on Nat Geo Channel and it was self defense. They had a guy that was attempting to overcome a taser. He actually pulled it off and was able to knock out a lead on his way down and got right back up. However, it appeared to be an indirect hit to his arm(my opinion). Now I've heard of drug addicts not being as affected and poor connections to cause innefectiveness, but what about solid connections on sober people? Anyone have any first hand experience or information on this?

I could be wrong but I think it is impossible to fight through it. It makes you lose control of your muscles. The problem with them is if you miss, there is no second shot without a reload and if in your home, what do you do once the pulse stops?

I saw that episode also and I was pretty impressed. But he certainly did fight through the taser, well enough to break the circut.

Here is the video if anyone wants to see. But even though one of the leads did attach to the underside of his bicep, he did overcome the taser. It was aimed at his chest. The lead just strayed, but that can happen.

Thats the impression I was under, but this show showed a man with no shirt swat them out. But like I said before, it seemed to be indirect and I'm not convinced it was a solid hit.

This is the same episode to which you are referring. The guy takes his shirt off after a few minutes into the video. If you look at the video you can actually see the lead dangle off his arm at 2:00 into the video. The one on his chest, he swated off before going down. But I still think he would have been able to do the same if both connections were on the chest. In fact he might have swated both connections off if that were the case.

Just my opinion.

I have seen people get tased contact (no probes) on multiple occasions and it seemed pretty DAMN effective! If you shoot and miss you can always press the taser up against their skin.

I know for sure that I would NOT want it done to me!!

I have watched in inmate take four solid Taser shots, two prongs two contact, plus umpteen cans of OC, with little to no effect. He gave up because he got bored. Yes, Virginia, there are some immune to Taser, and OC. How, I have no idea.
