I once was planning on sending a gun to them for repair, but after the not so very hospitable customer service, coupled with it may take 6-8 weeks and you'll have to pay the shipping both ways, I decided a trip to the local smith would be cheaper and faster.
I had a problem with a Thunderbolt, and had to send it back twice (2 different problems). I asked for and received a prepaid shipping label both times. Customer service wasn't wht you'd call overly cheerful, but they weren't impolite either.
On the whole I was fairly satisfied with the treatment I got.
You might want to do a search on Taurus customer service.
It seems the product is not bad, unless you get a bad one, then you could have an issue with customer service.
And I will most likely be called a gun snob for pointing that out. Taurus has some detractors, but it has some real diehard fans as well.
My experience with Taurus has been positive. I've sent 2 revolvers back..took 3-4 weeks each. However, this was 1998-2000.
In fact, the 3-4 week turnaround was substantially less then my buddie's 8 month wait on his Springfield 1911.
Both revolvers (a Model 85 Ultralight and a Model 669 .357 Magnum) were fixed. The 669 is gone (sold to finance a Taurus Tracker), but I still have (and carry) the 85.
