Just something that's been popping in and out of my mind today at work...
People have talked about survival situations, and "One of each" stuff, and I was wondering what the best combo of a rifle and pistol would be if they had to be the same caliber.
The two most popular that I've seen seem to be a lever-action rifle and revolver in .357 or a semi-auto carbine in 9mm with an autoloading pistol to go with it. Personally, these seemed to be fine in the handgun area, but the rifles (as it seems to me) might be underpowered. Other stuff I've thought of include:
AR-15 and an AR-15 "pistol"
Glock or 1911 with their respective carbine conversion kits
Thompson and 1911
M1 Carbine and a Taurus Raging Thirty
And my favorite, which I'm actually thinking of getting someday:
Marlin 1895 and a BFR in .45-70
Well, what about everyone else? Not necessarily for self-defense/survival/SHTF needs, but for fun as well--what combo do you think would be the best for you?
