The P225 is, IMHO, the best pistol they've made.

It is ergonomic perfection.

Not too big. Not too small. Fantastic double action trigger pull...almost revolver-like. Extremely reliable. I've never had one fail to digest anything I've fed it.

P226 imo

I can't speak for the P225, however, I had the P239 in .40, P220, and P226, the P226 is the only perfect one of my three.

My P226 has about 10,000 rounds through it, had 2 FTF on the 1st time out and 9800 rounds later, bang every time, and still has all original parts, haven't even changed the springs yet.

My buddy has the P232, .380, nice gun but it has an occasional hicup.

Oh Ya, the P226 is my wifes favorite target and carry gun.

Sigbear

Being a single stack 9mm, the P225 "melts" into my hand. The grip design is fantastic.

The double stack Sigs are great pistols. They just feel boxy to me. But comparing them to the P225 is a little unfair.

My favorite Sig was a P220(still kicking myself for selling that one)...I did handle a .45 P225 last week and thought it felt like a small(er) 220.....which IMO was better than the rest of the Sig line.

I'll have to agree P225's excellent pistols. I own two of their close relatives, p6's. Fun to shoot, no malfunctions and they'll feed spent shell casings just for giggles. Matter fact, I just sent off the paperwork for a can for one of the P6's. Christmas will come twice this year!

Hard to beat the old P228. Perfect balance. Always wondered why they stopped manufacturing it for the American market.

The only category the other Sigs beat the P225 in, is magazine capacity. But...I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Well....maybe not the .380, but I just don't like the cartridge itself.

I've shot the the P220 and P226. Very nice but the 225/P6 is my favorite. The slim single stack 9mm grip fit me best.

I find that it doesn't bother me at all on the 225. She rocks back a bit, but shoots like a creampuff. If it was a 40, it might bug me.

have a 220 elite LOVE IT 228 9mm w/crimson trace LOVE IT and a 226 in 40s&w and 357 sig LOVE IT each has it's niche would'nt get rid of a single one all are awesome

No I still like my sig, and it is heavy enough that recoil and muzzle rise are not a huge issue, but when you shoot guns with a real low bore axis you appreciate the difference for fast follow ups. I like sigs (and I'm really digging the grips on yours) but I'm not a fan of the high bore axis. For a carry gun I also like something a little lighter in the same sized package.

The P225 seems light to me. But I've been known to carry some pretty heavy handguns, and weight is really not much of a consideration for me.

I like the P6 but as a carry gun it gets upstaged by a number of others. There are half a dozen guns that are the same size package but not only are they lighter, but they also have roughly double the magazine capacity, to say nothing of aftermarket support and no worries about digesting various JHP ammo.

For a single stack 9mm with 8 rounds I'll take a khar for a carry gun. Thinner, lighter, and (for me the last time I had my Kahr and a sig at the range) every bit as capable of making hits, and fast follow ups from drawing and various positions at ranges of 1-25 yards. Another single stack 9mm I really like is the EMP.

That said, I have had all of the above and others at the range on the same day to run them through their paces and compare (not to mention who knows how many other range sessions with one or more of them). All of them are capable guns. I wouldn't loose sleep if some one told me I was going to have to carry one of my sigs for the next year.

225

The 225 is a great little gun.. I use to own one but sold it and picked up a SIG 228, As much as I love the 228 IMO one of the best 9mm platforms SIG ever made, I still miss my P6 it was a great shooter and ran like a top..
