I think the next step for our friends across the sea will be the total ban on the training and/or practice of track and field activities such as sprints and long-distance running. Then you won't have to resort to animalistic attacks such as shooting, tazing, or out-running the bad guys.

This final step will insure that civilization will return to England. Maybe there will even be hope for the United States. No longer will we have to hear that famous yell from our policemen, echoing thru the projects and ghettos:

"Get on the ground! Get on the ground, now! - Or I will huff and puff til' I chase your butt down!"

(God help us if someone decides to recruit a "Dream Team" of track stars for the purpose of robbing banks! "Guns, we don't need no stinking guns - we got our feet!")

At a time when the UK is rapidly becoming 'Knife attack capital of the world', I'd suggest some 'US style policing' is what is needed......never mind tasers.

Ohh come on, and true red socialist knows when you want to stop crime, you ban it. We need an all out "knife ban". As a matter of fact I think we ought to ban "being mean" all together. I think it would really help......

Thanks, I think I have Primer in storage somewhere (I have too many books), but it's been YEARS since I read it.

Just how does an unarmed police force go about stopping and catching armed bad guys????

From what I could tell when I briefly lived there, they didn't. They would come 2 hours later to take a report.

Say what you will about gun-totting American cops. I'd rather live in America where almost anywhere in the country you can call 911 say there is someone breaking into your garage and armed ass kickers will arrive to eliminate the threat in 5 minutes or less.
