Y'all have to guess! No seriously, I work for a major Federal Agency. I retired from diving a couple of years ago. I kept scarring the fish (but kept the name). I am an Emergency Management Specialist. 36 yrs of government service.

Physician Family Practice. Small town. Southern. Had a recent President from this State and I am making it my lifelong goal to forget his name.

I work in the telecommunications industry. Started as a call-center rep, became a trainer, then made it to corporate staff. As to what my specific function is...it changes every other quarter as we do another 'restructure'. 10 years with the company in July, w00t!!! Hoping not to retire there and eventually put one of my business ideas into motion.

Past: welder/fitter (structural, pipe, steel, stainless, aluminum)

Present: registered nurse

Future: continue my education in the medical field and see where it leads me

Past Past: Cav Scout, Sergeant, US Army - Scouts Out!

Past full-time & currently part-time: Registered Nurse, SICU.

Current: Attorney, Med Mal defense. Defending docs and nurses who have been sued.

I am surprised, there are not a lot of health care professionals here.

Past: Odd jobs when in school (I hope I never roof another house).

Present: RN Critical Care (ICU)

Future: Next Spring (MS) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (looking for a job again)!

I am unemployed and I need a job and a car. So, I found a women with a job and a car.

Actually my job is to put up with a lot of crap and pay taxes. In the future I hope to put up with a different set of crap and not pay taxes.

I work at McDonald's... Not the most prestigious job, but it sure does pay for my ammo! I'm a Second Assistant Manager, which means i only take orders from two people in the store. Er, basically, I handle the McPaperwork and the McFiring.
I got in to it because manual labor sucks. I, too, shall never lay another shingle!

Haven't seen this yet...

I'm a Lutheran minister in SE Texas. This summer will be my 7th anniversary in the ministry. To paraphrase the poem, "I have miles of sermons to preach before I retire," though.

Paid my way through undergrad and seminary (grad school) working at a local mom&pop tire shop/service station where I learned the tire trade and used it at a local SAMS club while at Sem.

I guess you could say I used to work in the dirt, now I know people's dirt!

It *is* interesting to see the diverse background of the THR folks. Nice to meet y'all.

Peace,
Quoheleth

Maker of fine horse tack and chaps... Atwood hat dealer... vendor of both at rodeos and one nice feed / western wear store.

Part owner of a new home construction company. Well,I'm the owner on paper only,my dad still runs the show. Basically I do all the electrical and concrete flatwork, on top of keeping up with all our sub-contractors and keeping the jobs going on schedule.

I'm also the jerk that tells my employees to hustle. You want someone to hate you? Tell him he's not working fast enough.

I am head cube jockey 1 of 12. I worked 75 hours last week. I have been at work 16+ hours today.
I am barley awake.
I am Working Man!

I'm a team lead over 3 accounts for a Helpdesk and IT Solutions company....
and a Biotech/MLT student.

I play with DNA - it's like tinker toys, but smaller.

Hey, thats what I want to do!

I play with viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, etc. Data-recovery and forensics analysis.

Kinda sounds like a bad CSI strip club episode.

I guess us geeks like guns... I've been doing IT'ish stuff now for about 8 years. Currently employed at one of those big cell phone companies supporting internal users. I also do some local server support and work on what seems to be a never ending stream of projects. Who knows what the future holds. Might be looking at getting into the cellular operations side of things, but don't think I'm ready for that yet.
