So what is the scoop on the new Model 70. I know Fabrique National is going to release it this summer under browning or Winchester's name I think. What other news if any is there about it???

I just read the Model 70/F.N. info in The Rifleman January/08 issue.
I am rather exited about this as I've been a Model 70 affacionado for
quite some time.
The Pre-64 70's were excellent rifles, fine shooters right out of the box.
THEN, came the enlightenment of free-floating barrels etc. and the rifle quality began a downhill slide.
June delivery dates they say??
Good, just in time for Grandsons graduation gift from Poppy.

Why the changed the perfectly good Winchester trigger is something of a mystery. And apparently, they've changed the hole spacing sop you can't use any existing after-market triggers.

I'd just as soon by an FN PBR XP, which is still the old M70 classic design.
