when looking at them the other day, i found one is a a new in the box blue 7.5 non adjustable model, it will go with my SS 7.5 non adjustable model.
You might try Ebay for some Taylor extended grips for Ruger Black hawk or Old Army, wood and extended like your Hogue. They do require a bit of fitting. Here’s a photo of my SS Old Army. Picked it up brand new in the box a couple years ago. Serial number dates it to 1979. I recently replaced the nipples as I was getting a few hang/misfires & need to get it back out to the range to see if they make a difference or if was a percussion cap issue. Here’s the original photo & one with the Hogue grips that fit my hand much better.

The NICs check is a form of registration, supposed to be destroyed after a few yrs, but with computers, they are registered forever....How would one go about registering their weapon with the government? I have never done that and have no idea how it would be possible.
Furthermore,
Any modifications to a black powder pistol to make it a modern weapon would immediately subject to any and all laws concerning modern weapons. Even if you build your own from scratch it is subject to modern weapon laws so I don't see the benefit to converting one myself unless you just want the look of the BP revolver.
That form stays with the seller. Not a federal registration. The NICs check is a form of registration, supposed to be destroyed after a few yrs, but with computers, they are registered forever....

Isn't it funny how they know exactly where a gun came from before the victim's blood is dry? That form stays with the seller. Not a federal registration.
Sorry to say local LGS owner said feds recently scanned all his 4473's going back decades. This was in conjunction with being robbed and took days to scan them all. Not sure what happens to NICS checks info. The question begs how long it would take to crosscheck 4473s with credit card purchases at pot shops? That form stays with the seller. That was an Ebay find while looking for gun tie tacs...what is the miniature revolver pin on the side of your loading stand?
Those 5.5” stainless ROA’s are absolutely beautiful. I fondled one at a gun show back in, I think, 2007. Guy was asking $550 for it NIB. I kick myself every time I think about it.I have two Ruger Old Armys-one in blue with a brass frame and one ing stainless. Both are essentially A.N.I.B. I am "working" on a third (5 1/2" barrel in polished stainless with the non-adjustible "receiver groove" in lieu of sights (also N.I.B.). It is my intent to have them all "papered" by Ruger. I will post pictures as soon as I get my I-phone to "speak" to my Apple desktop!

Ok, here's my official membership...with a little extra.
5-1/2" Stainless
Lee's Gunsmithing Rowdy Yates action job
Barrel face trued
Forcing cone opened up
Clement deepened the original cylinder
Banana River brass tipped ram
Treso nipples
Faux ivory blind screw grips
Classicballistx full round cylinder
Classicballistx fluted cylinder
Kirst 45LC conversion cylinder
Belt Mountain cylinder pin
The next step is likely to be a Power Custom Colt grip frame
I now have to figure out how to polish the extra cylinders to the mirror finish of the original Ruger and Kirst. Anyone know how without leaving flat spots or getting tendinitis? I was thinking about putting it in my drill press and using super fine paper and compound.

View attachment 1023315 A trio of Old Armies. The blued is an 81 the two stainless late 90’s. The conversion cylinder is 45ACP and is interchangeable with either of the three. A testament to Rugers quality control. Adjustable sights on all. A forth in stainless permanently fitted out with 45C cylinder and Belt Mountain base pin and base pin retainer stays at the southern home. Shooters all.
Yes, OK - I'll try upping the charge a bit. I'm not too keen to change the projectiles though as I have too many of them to use up!Up the charge a little, change projectile- would be my guess
