Any Indiana shooters out there?

Been thinking that for such a fun and gun loving state, I can't recall the last time someone posted an Indiana shoot.

We really should figure one out.

Lafayette here--I'm in.:) Let me know when and where; I may bring just a few guns!:D

In addition, I'd like to invite everyone up to the Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club just north of Lafayette in Brookston, Indiana. We shoot all kinds of stuff--highpower rifle matches, Cowboy, Action Pistol, ICORE, steel critters, inter alia. Check the calendar for events open to non-members. http://www.wvrpc.org/ It would be wonderful to have THR members at my club. Contact me if you want a tour or, if you live close, become a member.

I hope all my fellow Hoosiers are having a productive deer season, have a joyous and restful Thanksgiving and give and receive lots of guns and ammunition for Christmas.:) Come start of the year we have a lot of work to do in Indy (keeping the park ban repeal and other chores) and in D.C.

Atterbury back open!!! Can we still shoot full auto there?

When I say Atterbury, I mean the DNR range adjacent to Camp Atterbury. It has been closed during 2006 for a massive renovation. It should be open by March 2007. Once it re-opens, I'll be curious if there will be an admission cost. Admission was always free in the past. Rifles, pistols, muzzleloaders and shotguns were welcome. No class III, sorry.

Oh, I see. We always shot at the military range, not familiar with the DNR range, have never been. When did they go with the "no full auto" rule or has DNR always had that rule on their ranges (guess I could look it up)?

I don't mind admission costs, no problems paying my own way as it should be, as long as the money goes back into the range (yeah, I know, fat chance).:scrutiny:

Short of The Whittington Center, Wildcat is about the nicest outdoor shooting club I've ever been to.

I have fond memories of attending IDPA matches there, and learning some good stuff about riflery from a member there.

For North Central/Western....there's a real nice Metallic Silhouette range about 1/2 way between South Bend and Valpo, about 15 minutes south of US 30.

Back Forty Sporting Clays in Bourbon is a great course for shotgunners.

Brookston would be OK if it would work into the schedule. I spent 4 years in W Lafayette (MET)

Marion, IN we could shoot here.

Hi IDOTUSA here every one could come to Marion IN. and shoot at our police range. You would have to be a member of the F.O.P. or F.O.P.A. to shoot but memberships are only $15.00 a year and the first year they add $5.00 to cover the paper work but that is still cheep for a years membership to a range. Here is a link to the application it is PDF so down load, it print and fill it out. http://www.fop79.org/Files/AssocApp.pdf The range is 100 yards long. We have 5 FFLs in town and 3X more less then an 1Hr drive..

I will tell you what Nateyboy if we do get together and you would like to shot any of my guns you can. Of course it would be helpful if you brought some ammo at this time I have .22., .223, 20ga, 12ga, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, 9x18, 9x19, 7.62x25 and I am looking at a FnFAL. :)

I was hoping that my enthusiasm would be enough... If we get something going I can pony up some materials for an event.

Hi, I usually hang out on the Amback forum, but recently decided to join this forum also. Currently I am in Lafayette attending Purdue, but am looking into moving to Indy soon. Anyway I'm wanting to get back into shooting. I used to be a member at the Linden Conservation Club. Let me know if any of you are planning a shooting day and when.

Enthusiasm helps but it comes down to money. You see you could burn 3000 rounds with my best rifle before noon and that is $600.00 worth of ammo. If you are shooting ammo that you paid for you will be less trigger happy and make every round count. You would have just as much fun shooting my .22 as you would my.223 and a brick of .22 will last you most of the day. Look around for ammo on sale and you will be able to find ammo cheep, the other day W-mart had .223wssm on sale for $6.00 a 20, I do not even have a .223wssm and I bought every box they had at that price. I have an old .22 revolver that will out shoot most new hand guns and it is cheep to shoot a box of ammo for it will bring a lot of joy for not a lot of $. If I tell you that you can shoot my ammo and not replace any and there are 10 others there I will have to do the same for them and for a day that would be about 40,000 rounds. You can shoot my guns for free they are paid for but the ammo to replace what is shot is not.

I haven't had any of my pistols or rifles out in some time, I shoot shotguns regularly at Warsaw at Kosko Conservation, and once and a while at Back Forty Sporting Clays at Bourbon.

It would be nice to get out with the pistols and rifles some, but getting the time is hard for me lately.

I would like to find some privet land where we can shot

I would like to find some privet land all of the ranges have a thing about rounds per second. It would also be nice to find some where we can shot at least 500 yards and bust some clays without having to load one round at a time what is the point in having a shot gun that holds 13 rounds if you can not destroy something with it. It would be nice to find some where we can make a mess with watermelons, pumpkins and water jugs with colored water in them. and what not. We also need to start working on dates when each is free so I will have time to make sure everyone in my MAG is free we have kids that can out shot most of the grownups {Including me:banghead: }
