So, I'm thinking of getting one of these new beauties to be a fall/winter carry companion to my M&P 360.

Has anyone handled one, shot one, bought one or otherwise have opinions they'd be willing to share?

My dealer wants $675 to order one in and he's always pretty competitive, how's that price compare to what you have seen?

TIA

Wow a 7 shot scandium framed .357 with a 2 1/2in ported barrel, decent dual color sights and hogue grips!!! My prayers have been answered, that is officially my new dream gun. All it needs is a bobbed hammer.

As far as price goes I always compare everything to budsgunshop.com, they seem to be the cheapest around. But I could not find the 386 on there, there is however an auction on gunbroker.com. I think it seems like a decent price, cause dont the 340/360's run about $600-700?

I have one, got it a trade. Very light, like the 7 shots, do NOT like the recoil with hot loads. But you can't have everything, and I find it very easy to carry in an old K frame pancake holster that has stretched some. I guess if I need it badly I won't notice recoil. That theory has proven out in the past. It is so light I am leery of dry firing it, keep feeling like something might break from the shock of the hammer falling. So I use snap caps. It likes the 158 gr JHP loads and prints them inside 2 inches at 25 yards, about 100 rounds is my limit on any given day. Using 158 gr SWCHP +P 38s it is a great shooting gun.

That is a very nice revolver but I wish S&W made a K frame size airweight like the old model 12 and sold it at a reasonable price like today's 642.

Got One... Love It

I just got a 386 about w days ago and love it, as stated before it can be a handful but if you shoot hydra shock 130gr low recoil 357's it isn't too bad, with 38's its awesome. I have been finding it difficult to find a quality inside the waistband holster of leather but it'll be O.K.. Buy it and you'll never regret it.
