Thinking of purchasine a H&K P2000SK. It's only a matter of time.

I'm typically prefer a .40 S&W, but wanted to get some input. the 9mm seems pretty good, haven't fired too many 9mm(s).

This would be my carry pistol. Currently have a P2000 that I really like, hoping that the SK will perform nearly as good.

Just want to hear thoughts...any response welcome.

Thanks in advance.

imo sigs and hks are the best out there

i no longer trust 9mm bullets though

Entreus, with modern JHPs there's not a thing wrong with 9mms. You already have a P2000 so going to a compact version of the same pistol is good as training and practice with either will carry over to the other. By all means seek out a range where you can shoot both the 9mm and 40 S&W versions. See how your accuracy is with each caliber, then see how rapid fire affects your accuracy. Let that aid your decision. Overall I think the P2K SK in either caliber will serve you well.

I am a big fan of HK product and the P2000s I've shot have been really nice performers - even the sk's. As far as caliber goes - 9mm or 40 s&w - is a very subjective selection. Me, in a sub, I like 9mm - easier to control and fire quickly as needs dictate.

9MM

I'll try one before I make the purchase, unfortunately I haven't found too many ranges with p2000s available for rent.

Thanks for all the input.

I JUST bought a P2000SK in .40 S&W

It's an amazing weapon. Took it to the range this afternoon for the second time and I'm really pleased with it. The .40 S&W is described as having a very snappy recoil. Not with the P2000SK. Very soft shooting and easy to go into follow up shots. I find it very accurate for a "small" pistol. That's the only down side of it if you can call it that. It's pretty blocky and seems a little on the heavy side. Of course my other carry pistol is a Kahr PM9, so that may be an unfair comparison. I'm probably going to carry the H&K unless it's summertime in Texas. Then I'll carry the Kahr.

I've only shot the P2000 in .40 and it did seem like a pretty soft shooter, especially for the caliber. In this modern era with guns like the XD40 and G27, the P2000SK is not so small by comparison, though. It certainly is a bit expensive compared to the rest of the .40 CCW pistols on the market, but hey, you already have a P2000 you like, so why buy something radically different?

As far as caliber, I'd go for the .40. You can share mags with your P2000 that way, which is nice, plus it simplifies ammo selection. This is from a guy who prefers to carry 9mm autoloaders because of the cheap practice and low recoil.

Decided to start this back up

Has anyone shot one of the new H&Ks.

The P30 -
HK45 or HK45C
and the two
Combat Compition Models in 9MM and .40 S&W

I'm really interested in the first two. Talking to a dealer, he insisted that H&K was going to expand the P30 lind, calling it P3000 and including .40 S&W.

My point, I really like the P2000, dislike the USP and want a .40 S&W with a full size barrel.

The HK45 just intrigues me. I've been looking for a good .45, maybe this is it.

I love HKs & the P2000 & little sibling the P2000sk are welcome members. The accuracy, reliability, ergos & natural pointability make these great guns! :D
