I understand the varying hardnesses, and that is what prompted the question. I understand that softer lead is better at lower velocities, but I was hoping for absolute numbers. I want to load the bullets in a velocity range to minimize leading.
well I went out and shot my 200grain RNFP from Missiouri Bullets today.... They would not cycle. I know this is the bullet they recomend for shooting IDPA in an XD45. I seated the bullet at the crimp ring and this gave me an OAL of 1.195 - 1.20" hornaday book says 1.19 min. OAL. I ran 4.9 grains of Unique. Here is what it did. 80% FTL 50% FTE (stovepipe) 100% would not take the gun to slidelock. The loads felt real weak. less recoil than a 9mm factory ammo. Well so back to the drawing board. I wish I could find someone shooting this 200gn. RNFP lead bullet in an XD that could help me with my load. Traveling 45min to find out I screwed up sucks. Can anyone help me get a little closer to the bullseye.
I'm still in the dark as to how to properly open the boxes. Who know the trick?
