THR range day in Minnesota?

Yeah jeff got nabbed for felony cocaine, Biggest disappointment is the limbo it put his excellent collection of class III weapons in. They are spread out all over the metro as no one police dept wanted to be responsible for that many full autos at one time. It actually was a security concern having that many in one place, too tempting for robbery...

Inventory was over 50 NFA weapons. Including some very limited release weapons. A -134 mini gun, a 240G, several permutations of HK toys, a real FG-42 in 8mm mauser, two MG42's and a G-3, A special ops version of the M60.

Between dealing Coke, partying with Steve Tyler and Joe Perry, and having a rock star GF, he was living large, then Rock Star GF decided to clean him up and called the cops on him.

That'll happen when you get the wrong ladies involved.

Wasn't it deringer that said somthing about trusting women and full autos?

So, did we set a date for sure for this shindig or what?

A map of somesort would be helpful as well.

Thanks

Well, I know I started this whole thing, but the timing just isn't looking good right now. I'm gonna be putting in a lot of OT the next few weeks, and the family sort of wants me around for the holidays or sumpin'. Go figger.

So I'm gonna table this motion until after the 1st of the year. Anyone who wants to organize something before then is welcome to do so, of course, but I probably won't be able to attend.

Thanks, all.

It's a shame armored fire got closed down. I liked the place because they let me shoot wolf ammo and the place was never crowded. I won't be able to join you guys though, being it's finals week and all :(

I'm a definate maybe on the 20th but I'll be looking for a weekend shoot in january.

I may be in for a January shoot. I am up for outdoors too, a little cold never hurt anyone, as long as we have good gear and some vehicles to warm up in! ;-)

Anyone thought of going up to Del-Tone or the other range in St. Cloud area, maybe the Princeton range where the machinegun shoot is every year?

Just some thoughts,

Adam

from the southeast

Just chiming in from southeastern MN - well, actually, I am in NYC right now visiting family, but I will keep an eye on this thread, would like to make a get together.

O.k., guys. I just bought an Armalite AR-50 today. Now I need to find a place I can shoot it. Any suggestions? Anybody in the twin cities area have any experience with 50's and want to help out a newbie?

if you run into J.T. Cross one of the instructors at Bill's gunshop has a barrett and has had two AR-50's if you can track him down he would be more than helpful and you can shoot you 50 bmg at bill's if you realy want but the bullets aren't even stabilized at 50 yds.

Lets go for a little road trip with that .50 and play! I have some big gravel pits at the cabin with ranges pushing 1200 yards... I think that could be interesting. :what:

50cal

No outdoor ranges in the metro allow 50 cal, not sure about Gopher up at Harris. But, sort of a waste at an indoor range.

No outdoor ranges in the metro allow 50 cal,
Not true. I'm a member at Oakdale Gub Club in Lake Elmo, and 50BMG's are allowed. The problem with Oakdale is that the longest range is only 200 yards. Seems to me that shooting a 50BMG at 200 yards would be like taking a Ferrari for a test drive in a school zone--yeah, you could do it, but what's the point?

I will probably take my new AR-50 to Oakdale just to experience it for the first time, but I'll be looking for friends with acreage in the near future!

You might try Westbranch in Princeton, they have the MG shoots up there and you can stretch to about 500 yds with permission? Good deal about OGC, but if you are not a member of Oakdale you shooting is over till next spring.......more like June.......

Any Decisions Made?

Is there a shoot in January? Any Dates suggested? How about the weekend before the Super Bowl? The 27th or the 28th at Bills In Circle Pines......1300 or 1:00 pm for the rest of you.

MDig

if you won't call it I will.

The first THR shoot of the new year! I'll be there but maybe a little late (third shift guy) And maybe S&W 24 SR. If you all promice to be on good behavior I'll bring the little lady too.

Any thaoughts on post shooting munches? At the one at burnsville we went to dairy queen!

don't know much about Bill's.

It's only the long-standing champion for selling more firearms that are subsequently recovered from crimes in Minnesota. Oh, great neighborhood too. Be sure and wear your CCW...

let's keep the gunshop bashing off this thread. If you have a beef with Bill's or any other gunshop post it some where else.

I'd be interested in a shoot at Bills North.

Rather than bashing anyone, I'll just say that The Frontiersman has got to be the best gun shop in the twin cities. No Tactical Toms running around talking about loading M2 ammo into their Desert Eagle to get better stopping power (No kidding, I actually heard this somewhere else and the clerk was encouraging it). No street thugs asking about how they could buy a full-auto firearm under the table and then NOT getting kicked out of the store (Also actually happened right in front of me). And no white power or survivalist BS. I have also never been ORDERED at gun point to remove my hands from my pockets as I am entering the store.

The best gun shop in the metro is the Gunstop, no one comes close. Pricing wise they beat everyone, with minor exceptions once in a while. Friendly, yeah you bet. The best indoor range is Dakotah, but they of course do not allow rifles, unless 22. Clean, well lighted, and the best ventilation in town!

Ok Bills North in Circle Pines, Saturday the 27th of Jan.2007 1:00 pm. All I can promise is I won't bring Spooky old Alice (I mean my Ex-Wife)

I'll give another vouch for gunstop, in fact I just bought my Sig 239 there for an amazing price. Good friendly service there too.
