Threaded .45 Help

If I were looking for a concealable (which I read to mean defensive use is intended) 45 with a threaded barrel, I'd probably get the HK 45C. Its one of only two HKs (it and the P7) that I have any desire to own. There are other options but the HK is a very good gun.

As someone else said, it is possible to have your Kahr barrel threaded.

Holy cow, this thread took off in a hurry. And can we say tangent?

HKGUNS: Thanks for the tip on the SWR. I did some reading on that suppressor and I like the idea of swapping calibers with it. That's a huge plus if I can pop it on a 9mm as well. I'm not in a rush to get the suppressor so please let me know when you have some range time with that can. At this point, I'm looking for the pistol and the HK45c is in the top running.

I think I'm going to give Tornado Technology a call next week and ask about the P45. I doubt they can do it because the barrel is so thin. I can't imagine an effective extension on it. I think I'd have to find a drop in... but that gun isn't my goal right now. It performs it's role perfectly.

Girodin: Yes, defensive use is a safe assumption. In other words, I don't want to buy a pistol that is limited to the range due to size. If I can't ccw the thing, I don't want it.

As to the question of "why a suppressor?"... Mostly, I just want one. They are awesome and it's really that simple... And I think that's a perfectly good reason to own just about anything. Right??? like... why do you have a turbo charger on your riding lawnmower (not that I do)???... because it's f'ing awesome. That's a good reason, see?

In all seriousness, I want one so that the sounds wont cause traumatic and permanent damage to my loved ones if the weapon ever needs to be used indoors, in close quarters. It's a safety device. Someone else posted here, all firearms should have this built into the design. I agree. They would be safer for all parties involved if they were inherently suppressed.

Just give it some practical consideration free from hollywood stigmas... ear pro is easy enough for me... but what about everyone else in close proximity? Every combustion engine I own is equipped with some kind of sound dampening device. All around us, we have sound dampening devices for all sorts of stuff and it's mostly for comfort and safety. I personally don't understand why legislation insists on making similar protections for firearms extra difficult to afford and implement. I digress... this post went off topic a while ago.
