I was just wondering if any of you out their happen to use the Thunderwear holster or have tried it ? I will be using it for an SP101 3"er & figured it would be a good way to conceal . If you have any experience with it let me hear your thought . Those of you who may not have seen it before here is there website :

First, let me say welcome to THR. You've come to the right place for good reading and some sound (mostly) firearm advice.

I own a smartcarry holster for use with my 2 1/4 inch SP101. It's an almost identical product to the one you have ordered. Here is a link www.smartcarry.com It's a good product, but there are some obvious limitations. I do not reccomend it for a primary mode of carry. It's really much better suited for occasional deep concealment or as a BUG holster. Personally I don't wear it with jeans or any other pants that require a belt. I just can't get to it quickly enough to suit me. I know if I need my gun I need it RIGHT NOW. And getting to your gun while driving is impossible. At least for me. The reason I bought this holster was to wear under scrubs. That's where this holster really shines. Try strapping a SP101 to the waist of elastic waistband pants and you'll see what I mean. When smartcarrying under scrubs I can get to my gun just as quickly as a IWB. Comfort and concealment is outstanding. I can wear it all day with no problem.

If your looking for a primary carry holster for this gun, I couldn't more highly reccomend the Milt Sparks Versa Max II. The design of this holster distributes the weight and size beautifully. If you have any other questions I'll be happy to answer them as best I can.

I've had one since 1998. I rarely use it, if ever. It's not very compfortable sitting in a car and standing up and sitting down a lot. I also find I have to continually adjust it sometimes.

I prefer an in the pants waist holster or a belt holster. Or, for a tiny gun, a pocket holster (uncle mikes)
 
I have a smartcarry holster that I use for my Sp101 3” and 642. It’s my primary holster, but I rarely wear it as low as shown on the smartcarry site. If I’m wearing my shirt untucked I raise my smartcarry up so that the grip of my gun is just above the beltline at 12:00, very easy to draw from when seated in a vehicle. If the shirt is tucked I wear it so that the grip of the gun is just at belt level and just pull the shirttail out just enough to cover the grip. Again very easy to draw from. I’ve even wear it as a chest holster with the help of some shoulder straps that I had made. When wearing it this way the gun is located just above my umbilicus (belly button) and all I do is leave a button on my shirt unbuttoned for a super fast draw. Of course in the summer I can wear the same holster under my swimsuit or shorts with no shirt and nobody knows I’m carrying.:cool:

Yes you could but you would get some real strange looks when you sit down . It's fine while you walking with a smaller gun. Don't like it to much for real.
 
I too use a Smartcarry. It's great for deep concealment, you can wear a small gun even with snug fitting clothes. The major drawbacks are delayed draw time and the fact that sitting down is uncomfortable.
 
I own a large smartcarry. It can tote a 4" 686 or 5" bbl 1911.

Even with my jeans, it is not noticeable, but then, I don't wear skin tight Wrangler jeans like so many I've seen.

It's best use is under elastic-waistband pants, or some other without a belt (suspenders?).

I rarely wear it, I must admit. It is a niche product, for the most part.

In my case, I can sit & drive with it, though not draw when doing so.
 
I use a smartcarry as my primary mode of carry. I am wearing it now, actually. It works for some, while others don't like it. I personally have found it to be the best method for the way I dress, which could best be described as casual.

I have made it a point throughout most of my life to NEVER point a loaded gun at the jewels, so no way no how I would ever carry in this manner. But if it works for you and you are ok having a loaded firearm aimed at the nether regions , good on ya'.
 
I use a smartcarry with a J-Frame every day. The only down side I have with it is, trying to ride a crotch rocket motorcycle is uncomfortable. The above post is a uneducated bunch of junk. Since the gun is never pointed at the "jewels" as he so delicately put it, If somebody has shot them self in the pebbles using this type of holster, I will gladly donate 100.00 to this fine persons favorite charity.
 
I've found I can put my Smartcarry up around the waist, with the grip of the gun above my waist on my right hip, and use it as a very good tuckable. I can actually conceal my USP there, tuck the outer shirt completely over it and no one can tell. All I'd need to do to access it would be just rip the shirt tail up out of the way and draw.
