Tikka T3 SS, Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 SS, or other?

Really like my stainless Tikkas. Currently have a 243(sons), 7mm-08(wifes) and my favorite caliber, 6.5x55. Have never seen a stainless Weatherby, but would think that they would also be good.

I like both and have owned both, but other than the stainless metal are about as opposite as you will get in 2 rifles. Both will be quite accurate with a slight edge going to the Tikka in my experience.
The Weatherby is probably the heaviest rifle made and is very conventional in looks and operation. If you think you may want to in the future, there are many more options for aftermarket stocks etc for the Vanguard.
The Tikka is the lightest rifle you can buy for under $1,000. They have great triggers and are usually one of the most accurate rifles out there. Many don't care for the unconventional looks and find they are just TOO light for their tastes. While the guns themselves are very accurate, many guys cannot shoot a rifle that light accurately from field positions. Some guys like the detachable mag, others don't. Either way if you want another mag they are quite expensive ($60-$70) and can be hard to find.
Both are good solid rifles in my experience. You just have to decide which features are most important to you.

Tikkas are very nice...you won't find a smoother action in a factory rifle...heck I doubt you could find one in a custom rifle as well.
If you are looking for a predator rifle...the Tikka being light and offers good precision seems like the winner to me.

Those are both good choices. I'd also check out a browning offerings as well. I have a Browning Micro Medallion A bolt in .243 that is great. Really nice rifle.

The Vanguard and the Howa 1500 use the same action. Pretty much the same rifle with a different name. Worth adding to the list. +1 on the savage.

weatherby offers the "sub moa" test fired rifles. They fire each rifle and stamp the receiver "sub moa" if they shoot as such. Price is a little higher

You couldn't pick two finer rifles to choose between. It is my understanding that the new Vanguards now carry an MOA guarantee which puts them on par with the Tikka in that department. I think I would choose solely based on whether I wanted a light rifle or a heavier one for my varminting. The Savage is also a fine rifle, but I think you'll find it a bit less elegant than the other two (purely subjective). My Savage is a .204, my Tikka a .243, my Vanguard a .338. I wouldn't give any of them up.
