And hopefully a change in direction for gun law in the US, I wanted to purchase a "hi-capacity" handgun.

In NJ we still have our own AWB which limits us to 15 rounds.

So here's the question: need suggestion for 15 rounds and all metal (stainless if possible) for first choice. I think that means 40 or 9mm which is fine.

Second choice is anything with 15 rounds.

I think the Sig 229 is 15 rounds . . . . . what else is out there?

Sig P229 is a 13 round capacity I believe but can use P226 15 round magazines.

Being a SIG guy I would lead you towards the following.
P226 or P226ST(All stainless steel heavy beauty)
P228
P229

All in 9mm since you need to celebrate with a good ole' Wunder-nine.

Beretta would be rather symbolic and a fine firearm at that.
92/96 series

Should you want to keep it on the cheap you don't get much more bang from your buck then the ole' Eastern European SIG..........

The 229 is 12 rounds of 40 or 357Sig. Probably 15 of 9mm. (guess)

The 226 is a great 15 round pistol. Not sure if they come in stainless though.

Beretta 92f comes in a silver flavor - not sure if Inox is stainless or not. (also a nice shooter) Taurus has a close clone too.

Para P14 in stainless - 14+1 of .45acp! (yes, a little big & heavy)

Glock 19 - not stainless, kind'a ugly, but mags hold 15.

The Walther P99 in 9mm has some "Turkish Contract" mags floating around for it that are only marked to 15. Again, not stainless... but it's not a Glock either!

Hmm... there should be a few more options out there....

16'th round disqualifies some/most CZ75 mags.
16th & 17'th disqualify Glock 17s.
16'th round disqualifies most Walther P99 mags.

Full capacity mags will give you 12 rounds of .357Sig or .40S&W in a Sig 229. 13 rounds of 9mm in a Sig228. As mentioned earlier you can use the larger 226 mags, to up the capacity in the 9mm version- the 226 is still only 12 rounds in .40 and .357. However, why not just buy a 226 in 9mm, and get the gun designed for the 15 round magazine? Hell you could go all out and get the 226 Navy - which is made to the exact specs of the contract for the US Navy SEALs. A portion of the proceeds goes to a charity that helps the families of Special Ops personnel killed in the line of duty.

At risk of being laughed out of here, try a Smith 5906. Got the requested capacity, and accurate as most can shoot. A bit heavy for CCW, but only if you care.
