Took my chl class yesterday

Took my chl class yesterday. Had fun in the range but had a boring instructor so the classroom part drug out. Wife got hers to. Will post her target later

Texas, 50 shot spread out over 3,7 and 15 yards with a taurus pt101 .40s&w

Good job. I'm up for my TX CHL renewal later this year.

Looks as if the target they're using these days is different--used to be blue due to "sensitivity issues".

More importantly, the zones were 5-4-3. Head/upper center torso were five, shooting lower or farther from true COM were scored as 4 or 3.

A 250 score was perfect--all fifty rounds placed in the five-zone. Wonder what else has changed.

From what they said that is about it. Still 250 scoring. If you look at the top of my target you will see their scoring. What part of Texas you from?

Congrats! Good job on getting the wife in there too, but I have a feeling some embarrassment is going on about posting her target Hope you aren't in the Houston area. They've been taking forever; took mine 3 months.

I plan to take the CHL class within a couple of months...if not locally (Texas City or Friendswood) then I'll take a mini-vacation up to the Dallas Ft. Worth area to do it...or out to Grand Prairie/Valley Mills.

As for Houston, I dislike going up there most of the time due to the traffic (which seems to be slow in spots no matter WHAT time you travel), so I only go when I MUST, such as having an appointment at the VA (DeBakey) Medical Center there.

I've heard that you should expect it to take 6 months to get your plastic.
