i want to trade my taurus mil pro pt111 for a glock 19 (new or used). i've never traded before and want to know what i should expect to get from my taurus. anyone have a blue book? gander mt. said something about giving me 70% of 90% of the blue book value. math hurts.

anyway, does this seem like a reasonable trade, or am i going to get so little for the taurus that i may as well keep it?

any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks!

Blue Book

Here is the blue book values on it. Hope this helps. If they said 90% that would be 190.00. If they said 70% that would be 135.00. I think I would just keep it and buy.

PT-111 MILLENNIUM PRO
- similar to Model PT-111 Millennium, 10 or 12 (new late 2004) shot mag., except has improved ergonomics, Posi-Traction slide serrations, recessed magazine release, manual safety lever, trigger block mechanism, firing pin block, and lightweight frame, 18.7 oz. New 2003.

Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
MSR $406 $335 $280 $230 $190 $155 $135 $120

Add $78 for night sights (disc. 2004).
PT-111 Millennium Pro Stainless
- similar to Model PT-111 Millennium Pro, except has stainless steel slide. New 2003.
Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
MSR $422 $355 $280

A PT-911 retails for around $425. Blue Book says it's worth $280 in 95% condition.

A Glock 19 retails for around $475. Blue Book says it's worth $395 in 95% condition.

From my gun trading experiences, I'd say a fair gun shop would offer you $225 or so for the PT-911 and sell you a used Glock 19 for $395. In any case, you're probably talking at least $175 difference. IMO you might as well go $50 more and trade for a new Glock 19.

Basically speaking, if you presented your Taurus PT-111 MIL PRO
for evaluation, and it was a 98 per center with box, extra magazine
and doc's we would not put more than $175 into it towards a trade
on a Glock. As many dealer's will tell you, you would be better off
selling it to an individual~!:( ;) :)

thanks all for the advice. i really am sketched out about selling to an individual. i don't want to be linked to any future criminal activity. and to do an official ffl transfer will cost $25 and be inconvenient. i will probably suck it up and take the loss on a trade at a gun store. at least i now have an idea as to how bad it's gonna hurt.

thanks, though!
:)
