This is my first AK. I can't seem to find anything about the Krebs KTR03s. I believe it to be the model from 2003 based off of a Saiga receiver. How many were made? What are they worth?

Its worth what ever you can get for it. :)

These days, Krebs guns run from around $1200 up to around $2300, depending on the model. Yours would probably be somewhere in the middle I would guess.

Krebs does nice work. I have one of his early AK103K's (from the Kalashnikov-USA days), and its been flawless.

Im more of an AK traditionalist, and prefer them pretty much stock. About as souped up as I get with them, is an Ultimak hand guard with an Aimpoint on it. :)

AK round has more knockdown energy. Cheaper in bulk purchase. Can t get anything better overall.

I would love to trade my new BCM M4 for an aks-74, you did well imho
The AR I traded in the pic isn't even close to BCM quality either. It's a Del-ton kit gun built on an Armalite lower, with a few BCM part upgrades and an Aimpoint. Of course the build was dislclosed to the other guy.

You robbed the guy you traded. Krebs are some of the most accurate and well refined AK's made. Try shooting some Winchester brass cased stuff at 100yds and you will be impressed.

wow in that case you did insanely well my friend, by the way how does that bcm 20" shoot? Accuracy? I never fired it.

Krebs makes high-end quality AKs (read expensive). Like making a "silk purse out of a sow's ear". Oh well, it's only money.

My only question is why did he do it? Does he know something you don't know. Perhaps he tried to sell it and everyone cringed at his price, so he just decided to take the hit and trade for something he wanted. JMHO.

My mind is never at rest. :scrutiny:

Anyway you (possibly) did good. Now go out and shoot the thing.

It shoots good AR27. There is a pic of it over in the AR optics thread. I use it for 3 gun and found a nice "blemished" BCM lower for it to ride on. It was hitting steel at 550 yards!LINK
