So I'll qualify this 1st by saying I had no intention of trading my daily open carry pistol when I went to my dealer. The Taurus 24/7 tactical I carried I bought brand new with the case & all accessories. I put close to 600 rounds through it on the range with nary an issue. None of the problems Taurus is known for were an issue in my ownership. I only paid $379 for it last fall so in my estimation it was a bargain & got plenty of positive feedback from admirers.

However on Monday I went to my dealer hoping more ammo had come in since the events in Connecticut in December & the President's comments on proposed gun control measures. I think you know there wasn't much available. The shop did have someone looking for an older Taurus with a full size frame. One of the employees who I know saw me & pulled me aside to work a quick deal on my Taurus. $300 for a trade & $100 cash new in the box with 3 magazines & all accessories. I took it & just picked up the Glock today.

I know of Glock's reputation & legions of fans so I'll see if I'm joining them soon after some range time with this Gen 4 17. I'll report back to tell if this pistol has earned a permanent home next to my Beretta PX4 storm.

I've bought a total of eight Glocks with one being a Gen2 17. I like them all and shoot them all well. But there are those who don't like them and that's fine.

Surprisingly enough, all Glocks have the much discussed (and much cussed) Glock trigger to deal with. For me, starting in 1991 with my first, a Gen2 20, it was no big deal. Just another gun with another trigger.

The really nice thing is I've had incredibly few problems with my Glocks through the years and the few problems I have had were quickly fixed by Glock on their dime. That's just hard to beat in my book.

I just got my first Glock myself a little over a week ago and actually posted my impressions on the Glock trigger. I have the gen 3 26 and the gun itself is great, the trigger will take some getting used to. Its functional thats about all can be said. So fanboy I am not, neither am I a hater either. They are what they are, a rugged reliable firearm with a trigger that leaves you unimpressed.

Bummer they work great with the Pt111 mil pro. But hey never hurts to ask
