I have a Colt Pony Pocketlite and am thinking of trading it for a S&W 342 Titanium model. I know this is my decision but what do you guys think.

The Pony is a trick little piece, and no longer in production. I'd definitely keep it.

If it's your only carry gun, and terminal performance is the priority, then maybe I'd trade. Maybe.

Besides, you'd have to change your screen name, and you'd lose your post count. :p

I would keep the little Colt. I have a Mustang pocketlite, and love it. You can pick up a J frame any day of the week, but the little colts are out of production.

I called the dealer this morning and he already sold since lunch yesterday. He also has a Kahr pm9 w/ nightsite I'm thinking really hard about.

A Colt Mustang was my first "carry pistol"...

I've still got it. If your Pony is reliable, I believe I'd think twice about trading it off. They aren't made any longer and I think you'll be sorry if you let it go. Kahr's are great, *if you get a good one. I've read several posts regarding Kahr's "less than stellar" customer service. (JMHO)

Keep the Pony. Ya can't get them anymore. You'll be sorry later that you let it go. It is also much, much more controllable than that 10 oz palm cannon you want to buy. What good is power if you can't wield it well?

I had an all-stainless mint-condition Colt Mustang in 1999..

I sold it to a friend in Georgia the same year for $250, when I needed some cash..

I'm back in GA on business, and ran into him last weekend.

He said he'd sell it back to me for the same price..$250..

I'm thinking about buying it back, as it has only sat in his safe for several years..

My question is: How much are the Mustangs going for on the market nowadays?
