I have a PDF copy of a Russian 1910 Maxim manual...in Russian. Unfortunately, I don't read Russian. Would anyone who does be willing to translate it? It's 139 pages long and I can't pay for the service, so I don't expect any takers...but I figure I'll ask anyway. It's a cool manual; lots of dimensioned drawings and such.

if you continue to have troubles translating it, consider asking a Jewish friend if they have any recent immigrants in his congregation, perhaps they might be willing to help. Another possibility might be asking a local school teacher if they have any new russian speaking kids. Do not tell the teacher what you want translated, just give them a business card and ask them to forward it to such a parent.
I had good luck doing this with some instructions on a machine that came from India, and asked a teacher for assistance, I had a very nice woman who came and read the whole thing into a tape recorder, from which I transcribed everything, She also added english subtitles to the pictures in the manual for me.

In all likelyhood, you are going to have trouble if you find someone who speaks Russian without a military background. There are MANY Russian military words/terms that will be unfamiliar to someone who has not served in the Soviet/Russian armed forces. As a seller of Soviet Awards, some of which come with documents, I have been there.

I used to do professional technical translation from Russian to English in the petroleum industry and my cost was $20-25 per page or $0.10 per word depending on how technical the translation was. At http://www.russianmeetingplace.com/translation/ the posted price is $7.25 per page for 10 pages but this is not for technical translation which is always much more difficult and time consuming. I've see pricing as high as $45/pg or $0.15/word. Some pages could take 30 minutes to translate, while others can take 4 hours.
If you could find a bilingual Eng-Rus gun enthusiast with perhaps military experience, maybe he/she could translate just a few relevant pages, but the trouble you'll have is determining which pages are relevant. If you want to scan and send a few sample pages to me, I can take a look at it and let you know how complex it would be. You can e-mail [email protected] or send a PM. There are quite a few on-line translators that should work pretty well. Of course you'd have to type the manual in, or scan it in to text instead of PDF.
I'm sure it would be a pita to do the whole thing, but you could do the more important/interesting parts. Of course if you really want the whole thing, and are willing to spend the time ....

use google if you have the time you can type it in russian and it will translate to english look on the google page under launguge I use it all the time

Well, I can't upload it here, because it's about 45 megs. I would be happy to email it to anyone who can receive that large of an attachment. Similarly, I don't have personal access to that much web space - but I'll send it to anyone who would be willing to make it available for download.
Online translators wouldn't do a good job on this thing, because of all the technical language used.
El T, I could maybe pay in .22LR. But I guarantee the pay wouldn't be enough to make it worth your while.

My best friend who is also my old fraternity big brother has a degree in Russian-- and is a Vet and war buff. I have no doubt I could get a translation from him easily.

There is a fellow who goes to my church who I'm sure could do it. Rather he'd be willing to, I don't know. I might see him tonight at Bible study. If I do, I'll ask him about it. (Assuming I remember it. I have that CRS problem you understand.)

Ok, from what i read at the page it is ARMORER's manual; the text on the sample page goes about repair of the belt feed module.
What is worse is that terminology apparently dates back to pre-WW2 period and there could be some problems finding proper modern equivalents.
As for translating it entirely - sorry, but i have no time - primary job, family, plus next book (Machine Guns, FWIW) keep me quite busy.
But if anyone has questions about Russian small arms terminology and RU/EN translation in the field of small arms and ammo - feel free to PM, email or ICQ me

I told you guys it would be a b!tch to translate. Russian Military terminology is a language unto it's own, especially early 20th century documents.
