I just got a new Kel Tec PF9 and after almost, 21 rounds down range, the top of my trigger finger was bitten raw.

After pulling the trigger upon its release the opening in the grip where the trigger protrudes keeps pinching the top of my finger.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Other then that it seemed to be a nice little 9mm, although I was only able to go through about 3-mags before I couldn’t take it anymore.

I thought I was feeding it quite well but it kept nibbling on my finger

I use the optional trigger shoe on both my PF9 and P-11....much more comfortable to shoot. However, you might want to consider a dab of medium-strength Loctite to secure the screws and I didn't trust mine for carry until after 500 rounds with the shoe staying in place.

Just a suggestion that worked for me,

Check out KTOG.org, or google 'kel tec Fluff and Buff'

There alot of great sources out there on the Kel Tec, maybe not the most refined gun, but it does the job well

Also you can buy a 'trigger shoe' that will help

Thanks for your input thus far and I’m sorry if I didn’t explain this right I would post a picture but don’t get how to do that?? It’s not the trigger itself that has any sharp edges that need to be smoothed or worked on … The fluff-n-buff seems to be more for the barrel and feed ramp and inter workings and such. Let me try to explain this again. My issue is when I release the trigger after firing the gun the hole on the grip/frame/handle that the trigger sticks down and out of pinches the top of my finger … If they/KT know about this so they sell you a $10.10 trigger shoe to get it to stop biting your finger then why don’t they just include it and give you the option to use it or not ?? Just thought I would ask if anyone has experienced this and what they have done to correct it before I contact Kel Tec for any solutions. If I do try the trigger shoe and it still keeps nibbling on the top of my finger :uhoh: Maybe my fingers need to go on a diet … stubby little pygmies

Part of a fluff and buff
is to take a cloth polishing nib on a dremil and remove the flash and sharp edges, also you can just put a piece of surgical tube, or latex tube, or even a wire protector of the right size on the trigger to help, as the cheap fix.

I understand what you're talking about rinkrat and a fluff-n-buff won't fix it.....try the trigger shoe. The shoe, if "adjusted" up high enough to still function properly should take care of it....been bit myself but not after the shoe install.

Don't let your finger ride so high up on the trigger. I've put over 7K rounds through my poor beat on PF-9 with narry a comfort issue. :)

Shadow > True ... so I took it "the PF9" back and got a Ruger LCP for now ... Till I can checkout the new Ruger LC9

owlhoot > The Ruger LCP isn't nibbling on my finger the way the PF9 did

Thanks Too You All whom tried to help :D
