Troy's Medieval flash suppressor for SOCOM

Has anyone here looked into this item? Anybody know the particulars of installation?

One photo on Troy's site gives the impression that the muzzle device doubles as the gas cylinder lock. Are there any potential issues with the bottom of the gas cylinder not being supported?

Finally, I have seen SEI's gas plug recommended for the SOCOM. I'm guessing that the plug would be a good idea even if not being utilized with their flash suppressor kit. Yes? No? Maybe?

Are you having problems with your SOCOM right now not working correctly??

There are some on here that think you should take a perfectly good working rifle and change out all kinds of parts and spend hundreds of dollars on it, so your have a perfectly good working rifle.

I have had no problems with my SOCOM during the 1,500 or so rounds I have put through it. Basic maintenance and cleaning, and the gun is good to go. My only mod was taking most of the heavy junk off the gun and placing a traditional fiberglass handguard (used < $20) on it.

I might one day look at a new flash hider for it, and I do like the looks of the Phantom (have one on an AR), but don't see a reason right now.

SEI made the SOCOM gas plug to work with there SOCOM muzzle device kit, this kit allows you to use a DC Vortex or DC Vortex Cali-Comp.
Both of these accept the SEI/Fisher DC sound suppressor and the SEI SOCOM GLFS allows you to use a standard or NM USGI or SEI front sight.

The only significant mod I had in mind is the MCS. Once having done that, the stock front sight assembly becomes a little superfluous. I realize I can simply remove the front sight from the compensator, but I thought it might be nice to have something that looks a little cleaner. Thus my interest in the Medieval muzzle device.
