Good day Thought You might like a report on one of our special hunts for our kids John Mozingo United Special Sportsmen Alliance................................The hunts was givin by Slaughter bros.wild hog hunts in fl...We sent four kids one in a wheel chair..And one man with collon cancer..For 3 days As of 6-28-03...............................John, sorry for the delay.. I have been getting 2 hours sleep if I'm lucky per night..

Brigid killed her hog with the spear.. Is was a great hunt and the Porker was around 400 pounds.. Ryan Killed a 220 pound sow. And Mike and Chris killed two nice hogs this morning. And then we went to turn the dogs loose in the swamp And killed 4 more 3 with knife and one with a gun. The swamp was deep dirty and just right if you ask me.. We were all there I turned and asked where is Brigid and I was told she went to Georgia with the NWTF lady.. She mised all the action or maybe she planned it that way. You tell me? we did get the action on video and Brigids hunt on Video and it is fantastic..

:D Okay John, I will give a quick run-down, then I must be going for a while... It's been a long weekend.

In order of kill:

Thursday night (yep, after dark) Brigid came long with us and got lucky that the fight was on dry land. Put the dogs on a 400+ pound sow, Clint Wood (friend of Kenny's and an excellent hog hunter) wheelbarrowed the hog while Kenny coached Brigid after her first stick was a bit far back. I was the cameraman and I caught all the action on video!

Friday morning Ryan nailed a big sow, over 200 lbs, on the way to his stand. I have rarely seen a young man grin so big for so long!

Friday evening Dad nailed a trophy boar hog that he hunted for last week and never could find. 175 pounds or so, and nice size cutters on him.

Saturday morning Mike and Chris each nailed a big sow, I would guess between 150 and 200 pounds. Mike had a head-on shot and put it right between her eyes!! Sweet. Immediately thereafter Chris mad a perfect shoulder shot on another who posed broadside, but the silly critter didn't have sense enough to fall down. He fired again and hit her on the run, dropped her like a rock.

Saturday at mid-day we put out the dogs. For some reason Brigid was gone and missed this, which was the best part of all! Bummer.

Kenny and Mike took off on a 4-wheeler without a knife, and far from the rest of us, so when Kenny finally caught the hog Mike had to shoot it rather than stab it, but it was just as up-close-and-personal for him as a knifing would have been. He was ready to catch the hog himself! As usual it was a good shot and quick kill.

Next, another was caught over near the rest of the crowd. We crashed through the mess, and I was the first to the fight. I grabbed the hog's legs and held it, then 17-year-old Chris caught up and used the Sunrise River Boar Hunting Knife on it! The hog was probably 140 pounds or so.

Another was soon caught and John "Wild Man Lance" was the first to that one. I jumped in to help him hold it as he had helped mw hold the first one. Mike's hunting buddy Bobby was on that hog like white on rice, and knifed it with the same pig-sticker! It was about the same size as Chris's.

After we thought it was over we penned up the catch dogs and Kenny went to see what Goldie had bayed. He quickly rode back, and Chris's dad Michael rode back with him, Kenny had seen a real monster. When we got down there bay dog Goldie was in the water fighting a hog that was bigger than she was, and Michael couldn't get a shot. After some intense one-on-one fighting Goldie got separated from the hog and Michael made a fast and perfect shot!

The fun wasn't over but the hunting was... when they pulled out last night there was more than one man hugging other men, with tears in their eyes. It was a fond farewell and I hope I have made some friends for life.

We couldn't have asked for a better crowd to hunt with and spend time with. Them folks from Caroliney are some good people, and they can SHOOT!

More to come as soon as I can get it written up of course...
